托福閱讀之詞匯題解題思路

詞匯題是托福閱讀中很重要的一種題型，占比大相對(duì)拿分比較容易。這里講解一些較快的解題思路，能在不認(rèn)識(shí)提問單詞的情況下盡量拿到這一分。

方法一：詞根詞綴法

顧名思義，根據(jù)某些單詞的詞根來解決詞匯題。

This unprecedented development of a finite groundwater resource with an almost negligible natural recharge rate—that is, virtually no natural water source to replenish the water supply—has caused water tables in the region to fall drastically. 

The word “unprecedented” in the passage is closest in meaning to

○difficult to control

○without any restriction

○unlike anything in the past

○rapidly expanding

    Un：不  ---difficuly;without;unlike

pre：之前  ----past

ced：走

ented：adj后綴

由此可以看出，詞根詞綴解答的題：答案是多個(gè)單詞所組成的小短語。

方法二：例子與主要論證對(duì)象特質(zhì)一致

例子很多時(shí)候都是為之前論述的話服務(wù)的，很多時(shí)候能夠把抽象具體化，所以如果提問單詞所在句子前后有例子，一定要好好利用一下。

Supporting evidence comes from research showing that aggressive people often distort other people's motives. For example, they assume that other people mean them harm when they do not.

    The word “distort” in the passage is closest in meaning to

后邊有例子，他們假定別人要害他們其實(shí)別人沒有的時(shí)候（總有刁民要害朕），很明顯，是扭曲別人的意圖。選B。

方法三：利用并列關(guān)系去推斷：

并列關(guān)系詞：and not only ..but also as…as and both … and either… or neither… Nor

并列前后的詞即使不是完全相近的同義詞，前后感情色彩也一定是一致的。

She embarked on her career by working as a newspaper reporter in Wisconsin and soon began writing novels.

The phrase embarked on in this sentence is closest in meaning to

○took a trip to

○started out on

○improved upon

○had a opinion about

Embarked on 與 began并列，很明顯選擇B。

方法四：該詞前或后出現(xiàn)的內(nèi)容提存在反義關(guān)系。

反義邏輯詞： rather than ;instead; unlike; contrast ;on the contrary.

    The main conflict in the novel is between a mother who places a high value on hard work and honor and a son who repudiates his mother’s values instead preferring the easier path to fortune and celebrity

    The word repudiates in the passage in closest in meaning to __

  A) refuses to accept 

B) lives up to 

C) tries to understand 

D) makes the best of

從后面的小詞 instead這個(gè)詞判定兒子和媽媽的價(jià)值觀念是相反的，由此信息看四個(gè)選項(xiàng)，只有A選項(xiàng)帶有否定的意味,答案選A。
